  • Modern AI files (CS+) often contain a PDF-compatible stream, which improves conversion accuracy.
  • SVG output preserves paths and shapes but may simplify complex Illustrator effects.
  • Convert text to outlines in Illustrator before uploading if fonts render incorrectly.
  • For multi-artboard files, the tool typically exports the first or largest artboard.
  • AI to SVG vector conversion
  • AI to PNG raster conversion
  • Preserves paths and shapes
  • Color and gradient support
  • No Illustrator subscription needed
  • Open and convert Illustrator files without an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
  • Convert AI logos to SVG for use on websites and in web applications.
  • Extract vector artwork from AI files for use in Figma, Sketch, or other design tools.
  • Convert client-provided AI files when you don't have Illustrator installed.
No. AI is Adobe's proprietary format with support for Illustrator-specific features (artboards, effects, linked assets). SVG is an open standard that supports basic vector paths, shapes, and text but not Illustrator-specific features.
Basic vector paths, fills, strokes, and gradients convert well. Complex effects like 3D, blends, pattern brushes, and live effects may be rasterized or simplified in the SVG output.
Try opening the AI file in Illustrator (or the free Inkscape) and exporting to SVG directly. Some AI files use features that only Adobe's own renderer handles correctly.
